Sarasota
County hosts the highest density of loggerhead
sea turtle nests along Florida’s Gulf
Coast.
Mote
monitors more than 30 miles of beaches in
Sarasota County — including Siesta Key
Beach — for nesting and hatching sea
turtles. Mote also hosts the Sea Turtle Rehabilitation
Hospital, which takes in sick sea turtles
in need of medical care until they can be

The Siesta Key Crystal
Classic 2011, 5 day event being held on Siesta
Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida, November 10,
11, 12, 13 and 14, 2011. With the whitest,
finest sand in the world and 12 teams of two,
world class master sandsculptors will compete
for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES DIVISION,
there will certainly be sand masterpieces
created that will astound attendees of all
ages. Last year the event drew over 60,000
people and we anticipate this number will
double in 2011.
The
event will have live entertainment on the
beach creating a wonderful festival atmosphere
for adults and families alike in addition
to the many vendor spaces we have available.
A portion of the proceeds from the Siesta
Key Crystal Classic will benefit Mote Marine
Lab’s sea turtle research, rehabilitation
and conservation programs.
Cancellation
Policy - Vendors who need to
cancel must do so in writing and we must receive
it by October 1, 2011, in order to receive
a refund. After this, the funds are non-refundable.
Please keep yourself updated with the website

regarding cancellation or postponement of
the event. It is likely that only very bad
weather on Siesta Key will inhibit this event.
Rain will not cancel the event.
If you are interested in being a vendor during
the festival, please note the following guidelines
before reviewing the application which is
available for download on this page:
Generator Use – will be permitted in
a pre-determined number of spaces by Food
Vendors only. The charge for the 3 days will
be $75.
Parking – You cannot park your vehicle
by your space on the beach. However, you will
be allotted 1 VIP parking space in our VIP
lot and must display your VIP pass in your
windshield during the event. You will also
receive 2 event wristbands for entry. Set-up
and check-in will begin on Thursday, 11/10,
at 12 PM through 4 PM only. Friday check-in
will not be accommodated. Additional parking
permits can be obtained by purchasing additional
spaces separately.
Pricing
– all spaces are 10 x 10. You must be
able to fit within this space or additional
space must be purchased in increments of 10
x 10 areas. Tents, tables, etc., are provided
by the vendor. Retail vendor spaces are $450
and food vendors are $550 for 3 days. We accept
either MC, Visa or check as payment. Location
will be assigned based on the type of vendor.
You can request your preferred space by writing
in order of preference, your top 3 choices
on the application. All vendor spaces are
on the beach adjacent to the sand sculptures
so everyone will have a great location.
Set-up – The Siesta Key Crystal Classic
is a 5 day event, however, the Vendor Village
will be open for only 3 days - Friday, 11/11
through Sunday, 11/13, from 9A to 5 PM. Vendors
are requested to set-up on Thursday, 11/10,
between 12P and 4 PM. Set-up on Friday, 11/11,
will not be accommodated. You must check-in
at the VIP Parking lot and entrance to be
assisted to your space on Thursday afternoon,
11/10. Vendors will need to be asked to be
set-up and ready by 9 AM on day 1.
Confirmation of your space will be granted
to you when we receive a completed application,
payment and insurance. Please have an e-mail
address listed on your application for communication
purposes. All spaces are reserved on a first
come/first serve basis.
Re-supplying
your tent: Supply tents for all vendors will
be strategically located within the Vendor
Village. When you are in need of supplies,
we will distribute them to your designated
supply tent. Vendors will be responsible for
getting their supplies from the supply tent
to their vendor tent. Please see layout for
supply tent locations within the Vendor Village.
Alcohol – your menu cannot include any
alcoholic drinks.
We reserve the right to refuse any Vendors
we do not feel are appropriate for this event.
We reserve the right to limit certain types
of vendors. This limits more than any one
kind of booth.
Security – this event is on the beach
and there will be night security for the sand
sculptures and for vendors at night. It is
best to make certain that your equipment and
wares are secured. If you need to, please
remove your wares at the end of the day at
5 PM. Please note that although we will have
nighttime security for the entire event beginning
Monday, 11/7, we cannot be held liable for
vendor equipment and items.

The Master Sand Sculptors will be fed everyday.
If you are a food vendor who is renting a
space and you wish to donate a lunch, please
let us know in advance. We will be certain
to give you the recognition for your donation.
